More than 220 people will perform at the DeafSkills Professional Skills Championship in Kazan

The first National DeafSkills Professional Skills Championship for people with hearing impairments will open today in Kazan in the concert hall of the Universiade Village. Its participants will be more than 220 people. This was announced today at a press conference in the Tatar-Inform news agency by the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Republic of Tatarstan Elmira Zaripova.


"The age of the participants is from 18 to 35 years. I would like to thank the organizers of the championship for the fact that Kazan was chosen as the venue for the National Championship in Professional Skills. This idea was actively supported by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. 6 thousand people with hearing impairments live in the republic today. Comprehensive, systematic work has been built on social and vocational rehabilitation, career guidance for people with disabilities and hearing impairments," the minister said.

The organizers of the DeafSkills championship are the interregional public organization of the disabled "Youth Organization of the Deaf "Success", the UN Democracy Fund with the support of the All-Russian Society of the Deaf, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Center for the Development of Professional Competencies of the Republic of Tatarstan. More than 220 people from 57 cities of Russia will participate in competitions in 26 competencies. Their performances will be evaluated by 130 experts. The first National DeafSkills Professional Skills Championship for people with hearing impairments will last in the capital of Tatarstan until December 11, 2021.
